The new design is higher functioning, more stylish and even more abuse proof. It still retains the signature articulated spine pad, but has also been equipped with double layer elbow sleeves that accept articulated padding system.

The 1000D CORDURA exterior does a great job of repelling dirt and moisture, and provides good insulation for cold weather. but it should serve well as an outer shell in bitter cold with properly-layered undergarments.
The nylon shell is also coated with urethane, which causes water to bead up and run off its surface.
Velcro cuff closures and cinch straps behind the hip area reduce loss of body heat in cold weather.

Tim Bondurant：As I unfolded the jacket it looked EXACTLY like the pics. I immediately put it on as I was concerned about sizing. I wear a large shirt but ordered an XL as I wanted room for bulky undergarments. I have an athletic build - wide shoulders smaller waist. I look like a BEAST in this jacket. Makes my shoulders and back look even bigger. No one is going to mess with me in this jacket.Happened to be a windy cold day so got to test it. It is wind proof and I was warm however the jacket is not insulated but the fabric is so thick that it worked well - you'll need another layer if doing extended cold. I could tell from the inside that the back of the fabric has a waterproof coating.
